Layritz Park, right next door
Layritz Park is a short walk from the suite: about 29 hectares of trails, playground, ball diamonds, a turf soccer field and a 9-hole disc golf course in Saanich. Our street, Layritz Place, is the park’s main entrance.

Walking loops
Paths branch all through the park, so a walk can take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour depending on the routes you pick. Ask us for our favourite loop.
For kids
The large playground has a climbing net, bouldering rocks, swings and a separate structure for 2 to 5 year olds. Public washrooms are on the lower level of the building beside the turf soccer field.
Home of Layritz Little League
Layritz Park is home to Layritz Little League, Layritz Intermediate Baseball and the Prospect Lake Soccer Club, whose turf field and clubhouse are here. It hosted the 2025 Canadian Little League Championship. If your family is in town for a game or tournament, the suite is about as close as you can stay.
Disc golf
The 9-hole basket course starts near the Vancouver Island Technology Park side of the park and weaves through an open field of small trees and shrubs.
Parking at the park
Staying with us, you park on our driveway. For a second car or visiting family: the park lot off Layritz Place has a 2-hour limit on business days, and the Vancouver Island Technology Park lot is free for park users on weekday evenings from 5:30 PM and all day on weekends and holidays.
The Layritz story
Richard Layritz (1867 to 1954) ran what the American Rhododendron Society’s journal calls the largest nursery in British Columbia, with its main grounds along Wilkinson Road. In 1953 he donated 15.5 acres to Saanich on the condition that they be fenced in and used as a park for children. A plaque on a rock near the parking lot marks the gift.
